For quite some time, my journey as a Makeup Artist felt a bit lonely. I never worked for a brand, no agency representation -just me myself & I. It felt like I was taking this journey by myself until I ventured out to Provincetown Massachusetts for several days. (a week ago.)
For the first time, I felt like I belonged to something – but it wasn’t just “something”. It was a family – a community of artists who welcomed me and others with open arms. It was support, it was inspirational – aspirational , it was emotional, spiritual, insightful . It was everything I could have imagined and more. It was life changing actually. 200 artists from all over the country. From Cali to Atlanta, Florida to Rhode Island, and everywhere in-between.
This wasn’t just about Makeup. In fact – makeup was so small compared to the bigger picture. It was about a lifestyle. Living well, living honest, living with integrity. Living for now and living for the present.
It was about being vulnerable, letting your walls down, and letting go. It was about taking yourself out of your comfort zone, staying curious, and understanding the true variants of success.
It was about leadership, education, community, compassion, struggles, and fears, energy, and exploration. It was EVERYTHING. Just… everything. If I had an infinite amount of words, no amount could explain the aura, energy, emotions, and knowledge that took place at The Artist Summit. I wish everyone I knew could have gone through this experience because I know all of you would have taken something great from it.
I feel so grateful to have been able to attend and meet all the amazing people there who I now call my friends and family and I look forward to building these new relationships. <3
