When in doubt, just do skull makeup!
Halloween is a time for people to really bring out their creativity which is all fun and games, yet SO STRESSFUL at the same time! Everyone wants their costume to scream WOW so there’s definitely a lot of stress that goes into it for some , or others just freak out because they don’t have a costume. I have been too lazy these past couple of years to stress about and think of an actual costume so I decided to paint my face instead. Last year I did half a skull vertically and this year I was inspired by makeup artist “Chrisspy” (www.youtube.com/chrisspymakeup) who had done half a skull horizontally. I thought it was so bad ass, I decided to take a stab at it! I either received positive comments on it or stares – I’m just going to take that as a good thing.
I used Mehron’s face paint as well as grey, black, and white eye shadow to highlight and contour certain areas. Be sure to not drench your brush in water because your paint will be very transparent/thin when you apply it to your face and the pigmentation won’t be as opaque. I had to apply a few layers on (letting each layer dry first of course) in order to get it really white. Another face paint I like to use is from Wolfe Face Art FX. They have different palettes of colors which is great. I’m not sure if they still have the same 12 color palette I bought 3 years ago at IMATS. I’ll update this post to show what it looks like.
All in all, its been a stress free and inexpensive Halloween. ????
