IBS 2017: Instagram Makeup – You Look CRAY Girl.
March 12, 2017

Sofiia Strykova, a dear friend and amazing makeup artist connected me with Jill Glaser who is the founder of Makeup First School in Chicago. I sat in as a model for Jill’s seminar at IBS, “Turning Instagram Makeup Trends Into Wearable Looks.” Jill did the wearable look on her daughter will Zee Gustafson turned me into a typical Instagram girl.

It was really fascinating sitting in the makeup chair (which rarely happens unless I’m taking a hands on workshop). I think the most shocking thing to me was the serious baking process that just sucked the hydration out of my skin – pretty crazy feeling when your bake is super heavy.  It was quite funny and jaw dropping when I took a look in the mirror as the makeup was HEAVY.  Zee did a great job in interpreting the look that really isn’t wearable. (Those eyebrows were… pretty darn serious – haha) I can’t believe people wear this much makeup on a daily basis. I felt like my skin couldn’t breathe!

Aside from this oh-so-very educational seminar, I also assisted Jill at the booth promoting the school and the products she carried. Talking about makeup to hair stylists (as they are a majority of the IBS crowd) and people who don’t know as much about it seems to be more fun for some reason.

Trade shows can be quite overwhelming with the hundreds of vendors across the floor while thousands of people get their hands on the latest products and amazing discounts *heart face* but it was great nonetheless. (:

Ready for the next Tradeshow !
