For those of you who don’t know what Look Good Feel Better is, it’s an organization that brings Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists together to help women who are going through cancer treatment feel great about themselves through a 2 hour makeup/hair workshop. It’s amazing how different you see things when you hear the stories some of these women tell- whether its the treatment process, the type of cancer, or how it’s made them feel. Our goal: to lift them up of course! . The makeup is sponsored by the Personal Care Products Council . Each person gets a bag filled with SO many goodies. I’m even jealous of the stuff they get in the kits. From Estee Lauder, to Bobbi Brown, Revlon, Physician Formula, Mary Kay- the list goes on. We are brand neutral so we aren’t out there to promote brands. We are merely just giving these women the tools and tips to looking and feeling fabulous.
I first heard about LGFB when I was 18 after I had purchased an online book on “How to Become a Makeup Artist.” It had information on LGFB and I knew right then and there how much I wanted to be a part of the organization. I’ve been volunteering for about a year and a half and looking forward to many more sessions. The joy I feel after teaching these women how to do their eyebrows (as some no longer have any due to treatment) is UHHH-MAZING! haha. I just love eyebrows and have somewhat an obsession with them. They really do shape your face. I’d be too afraid to tattoo mine only because- some days I want them to look thinner and other days I’ll feel a little daring and make them thicker.
Anyways! If you want to learn more about LGFB or donate you can just go to their site http://lookgoodfeelbetter.org ????
