Sharlene x Sophie Robertson
August 18, 2016

My nearest and dearest Sharlene Radlein who is represented by Major Models NY and also Miss Jamaica 2015 had a shoot with these beautiful scarves by Sophie Robertson. Some things I learned during this shoot:

1. Tying silk scarves is hard.

2. When you have no safety pins and only bobby pins, all you want to do is poke a fat hole through the scarf.

3. You cannot poke a hole through the scarf because it is expensive.

4. Tying a front facing bow at the top of the head … is really hard.

5. Figuring out how to keep the scarf on the head alone- HARD

We planned A – B – and C’ed it! It took an entire team to figure this out (okay more like 3 of us- 6 hands seemed like it wasn’t even enough, haha ) that we couldn’t help but laugh – a little exhausting I might add. Then came putting the scarves into action shots. That my friends is another story… for another time.

The moral of this story ?

6.  Sometimes… it’s better to stop trying and just look for other solutions. This does not mean you’re giving up. It means you are being smart with your time, and if you keep trying to make 2+2=22, it is never going to work out unless you have something to whiteout that plus sign. Sometimes simple is just simply better.
