Upstate NY

The wedding industry isn’t always the most glamorous compared to editorial and commercial work. They both have their time crunch but the day of a wedding is so so different. James Vincent had even said that Makeup Artists who do bridal work are some of the hardest working people in the industry.

What makes it rewarding though? These are every day women who usually don’t wear makeup and if they do, its’ minimal. Models know they look good and see themselves done up all of the time. I’m not taking away who Models are. I have the utmost respect for them, but when comparing them to the every day person who doesn’t wear makeup, some of these women don’t see their potential. The most amazing feeling is when they (brides/mother of the brides/bridesmaids etc) look at themselves in the mirror after I’m done. They are so surprised and shocked that the person staring back at them is actually them. Being a part of helping women see their potential is truly and amazing feeling.

Enough babbling- here’s the wedding I did this past weekend in upstate NY. I was up at 4:30am to take the drive up and it was worth well it (as it always is). Theresa, (the one with the 3 image collage) was a past bride of mine. Her sister in law was getting married and needless to say, I was brought on board.

I don’t usually do before and after’s because it never crosses my mind but I know how much it helps clients see the different in skin and texture etc.

Enjoy!
